Il 25 settembre gli Italiani saranno chiamati al voto per la prossima legislatura. Mentre i big della politica si contendono l’attenzione dei pochi spettatori rimasti al caldo delle città, i giovanissimi sono presi dalle vacanze, dai viaggi e, in qualche caso, dalla scelta della facoltà universitaria, o dalla preparazione degli esami di ammissione. In particolare, i ragazzi che hanno compiuto 18 anni nel 2022 si troveranno a fare i conti con un appuntamento elettorale molto impegnativo, rispetto al quale, in gran parte, si dicono confusi e impreparati. Troppo poco il tempo per seguire un dibattito politico che richiederebbe altri tempi di approfondimento e che, invece, sembra destinato a diversi risolvere tra scambi di tweet e spot social.
Già per le elezioni politiche del 2018, un sondaggio di Demopolis registrava che circa un giovane under 25 su due non si sarebbe recato alle urne, ma questa volta la situazione potrebbe essere ancora più sbilanciata. I dati Istat, infatti, confermano il maggiore disinteresse da parte dei giovani: il 27 per cento dei 18-19enni e circa un quarto dei 20-24enni non partecipa in alcun modo alla vita politica, né in maniera attiva (partecipando a manifestazioni, seguendo comizi o partecipando alle attività di un partito), né in maniera passiva (informandosi sulle questioni politiche).
Ad aggravare la situazione, questa volta, concorrerà il dato relativo ai tantissimi studenti fuori sede che il 25 settembre prossimo avranno da poco raggiunto i domicili universitari e quasi certamente non potranno rientrare per il voto nella città di residenza.
