Al Salone del libro di Portici “Il vento non soffia di notte”

Tre giornate ricche di eventi: incontri con autori, rappresentazioni poetiche e canore, laboratori con esperti si sono tenuti dal 13 al 15 maggio presso la Reggia di Portici.  Non solo, all’interno del Galoppatoio Reale sono stati allestiti gli stand delle case editrici del territorio e di altre piccole realtà letterarie. Tra queste, degna di nota è l’iniziativa del Dottore Francesco Gentiluomo, che con il suo libro “Il vento non soffia di notte” aiuta la ricerca contro una rara malattia genetica, la CCHS (Sindrome da Ipoventilazione centrale congenita). Si tratta di una malattia cronica del sistema nervoso autonomo e del controllo della respirazione, conosciuta anche come Sindrome di Ondine. Il nome si deve ad un mito della tradizione germanica. Ondine è una ninfa marina, e per questo immortale. Sposa un uomo comune e partorendo perde la sua immortalità. Il marito però la tradisce, venendo meno al loro patto di eterno amore. Quando Ondine scopre l’infedeltà dell’uomo lo maledice: “Mi avevi giurato fedeltà con ogni tuo respiro, ma ora che mi hai tradita, quando ti addormenterai, il respiro ti sarà tolto”. Chi soffre di questa malattia, infatti, soffre di gravi difficoltà respiratorie durante il sonno. Il romanzo  narra le storie di due coppie di adolescenti, alle prese con l’esame di maturità, che vivono una alla fine degli anni ’60 e una negli anni ’80 . Le due vicende vanno a intrecciarsi con la vita del Dottore Andrea Morabio, che a sua volta vive una storia d’amore travagliata. Il romanzo attraversa temi importanti come la passione, l’amicizia, la solidarietà, e lascia spazio al racconto dei giovani Federica e Salvatore, che appena diciottenni, dovranno affrontare la malattia della figlia Sabrina, affetta dalla sindrome di Ondine. Un racconto ricco di spunti, riflessioni di carattere filosofico e psicologico, il cui ricavato è interamente devoluto all’AISICC ( Associazione Italiana per la Sindrome da Ipoventilazione Centrale Congenita).

There is something to think about: thorough research of competitors are blocked within the framework of their own rational restrictions.
