Dopo 2 anni di assenza, domani il Giro d’Italia tornerà in Campania, in occasione dell’8ª tappa di questa edizione, la 104ª nella sua storia. La tappa parte dalla Puglia (Foggia) e l’arrivo è fissato a Guardia Sanframondi, comune in provincia di Benevento. Dopo ben 3450 km percorsi dall’inizio della corsa rosa, in questa frazione i corridori affronteranno 173 km. Il percorso consiste in un continuo saliscendi, ad eccezione del passaggio nella piana telesina, e sono presenti 3 traguardi volanti: 2 sprint, il primo a Campobasso e il secondo a Castelvenere, e 1 gran premio della montagna a Bocca della Selva, salita di 19,6 km con il 4,5% di pendenza media. Molto meno impegnativa è la salita dell’arrivo con durata di soli 3,5 km , dunque i favoriti della tappa non possono che essere dei finisseur come Diego Ulissi, Gianni Moscon, Mikkel Honoré e Felix Großschartner. Ci potrebbe essere anche un attacco alla maglia rosa, dato che il leader della classifica generale Attila Valter, primo ungherese della storia ad indossarla, ha solo pochi secondi di vantaggio sugli inseguitori. Per la Campania sarà un’ottima occasione per promuovere il marchio del Sannio, ed in particolare del buon vino Falanghina, sfruttando il grande interesse mediatico internazionale che c’è attorno alla storica corsa del Giro d’Italia.
